The Honeymooners

We're back! We've actually been back for a long time. I've just been really lazy about blogging lately. About everything really. The wedding, and honeymoon, and Christmas, and school... had really taken it out of me. But after some nice refreshing holidays and a break from school I'm rearin' to go. :)

So....
We had an AMAZING honeymoon in Costa Rica. It rained every day, but only in the morning just before sunrise and then in the evening for an hour or so after dinner - only at the times when a nice relaxing rain felt good.

There is so much to say about our trip, I'll try to keep it to the highlights.
It was a group trip and we were thrilled to find the other travelers were from around the globe - Gabby from Australia, Lucy from London, David from New Zealand, Simon from Ireland, Marie-Eve and Ian from the UK, and our guide Allan from Costa Rica. It was so great to spend a couple weeks learning about each other and our differences in culture.

Some of the highlight activities were ziplining, surfing, ATV tour, whitewater rafting, hiking the beach at 4am to find sea turtles, holding a baby sea turtle, holding a baby monkey, hiking through the rainforest and cloud forest, a night hike, hike by the volcano, and an early morning canoe trip in the rainforest. But those are just the highlights. This was an action-packed trip, and we lived it up!

We became good friends with the couple from the UK (Marie-Eve and Ian) and spent a lot of time with them. In fact, we all shared a near death experience whitewater rafting. It's a long story, but lets just say there was some yelling for help and some bashing into rocks, and the trip ended with 2 of 4 oars and four very wet and sore people. (Notice that Marie-Eve and I are paddling while the guys "cower" in the back. We saved the day!)The trip was better than I think either of us had imagined it would be. Chris even said he liked it better than Thailand. I was so dissapointed to have to come home. We loved our guide. We loved our activities. We loved Costa Rica. We'd love to go back.
