Ho! Ho! Ho!

Chris played Santa for some kids this year on Christmas Eve. He was AMAZING! It really warmed my heart to see what a good Santa he was, but even more to see how much he enjoyed it.

He was so excited. He kept saying how cool it was that you get to basically be a dream come true to these kids; that Santa is like a super hero, and he gets to be that hero. It meant so much to him, and I love him so much for that. :)

He first visited our friend Shari's grandkids at their home. He gave them candy canes and sat with them. They asked him about his reindeer. Unfortunately, the boy was just not having it and kept trying to blow Chris' cover, but the little girls were so sweet and brought Santa cookies and gave him hugs and high fives. It was so cute. Then we went to our friends Slawek and Margaret's house to "visit" their son Max. We were all afraid Max would recognize Chris (he's a smart kid), so Santa just crept up on his back porch with a hearty "Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas Max". You could hear Slawek and Margaret yelling, "MAX! LOOK! NO WAY! OH MY GOSH, LOOK MAX!". Santa left a special gift for him there on the deck before giving a little wave, and off he went.

Chris was just beside himself. He came back around the house saying Max's jaw hit the floor when he saw Santa, and Max just kept yelling "He IS real! He IS real!!"

We were both near tears at how special a moment Chris had just created for one little boy.
