Stratford, Ontario - A Weekend With Mom

Mom and I headed over to Stratford last weekend our first mother-daughter trip since I was a little girl. The weekend couldn't have been more perfect - unless we had one more day!

After arriving late Friday night, we woke up EARLY Saturday morning and headed out for some coffee to wake us up. (Hence my super sleepy eyes in the above pic - ugh!) Then - time to hit the streets!

We drove through the quaint little town, full of gorgeous old-style homes. Even the cemetary was beautiful, peaceful, and serene.

The little downtown had numerous wonderful little shops - book stores, boutiques, coffee bars. We spent a bit of time in a great little tea shop. We did so much smelling of all the delicious teas that by the time we left my poor little sniffer couldn't sniff anymore!
Time for lunch! There were SO MANY wonderful restaurants and pubs. Each that we went to was delicious, but the one that stood out to both of us was Pazzo - a fancy yet very comfortable italian restaurant where we stopped for DELICIOUS food and a couple glasses of wine.

The play we chose to see was "Cabaret". Wonderful choice! It was fantastic! The cast was great, the songs were entertaining (to say the least), and the story was suprisingly powerful. Of course, we both bawled.

The rest of the afternoon was spent going into more of the little shops. We stopped for some gelato, which I had never had. YUM! The sun was shining, the people were all extremely friendly, it was a perfect day, just me and mom.

We have agreed to do one of these mom-and-daughter trips a couple times a year. I wonder where our next venture will take us for another set of special memories.
