Veggie Garden

Chris and I have each done our own veggie gardens this year. We started seeds indoors, most of which lasted long enough to be planted outside. My garden is a container garden on the porch off of the master bedroom. In it are three types of peppers, tomatoes, dill, chives, chamomile, catnip and pretty little johnny jump-ups and blue fescue.

After a seemingly long wait, we are beginning to reap the fruit of our labor. :)

The peppers seem to have flourished, while some others are simply hanging in there. Lack of hours of direct sunlight seems to be the biggest problem for our determined little plants.

Chris is growing some Atlantic Giant pumpkins, which will be in the mini form this year for some reason. (Again, lack of light?) Many of his other plants have done well. Sunflowers line the edge of his veggie bed, which consists of garlic, musk mellon, corn, habenero, jalepeno, and cayenne peppers, as well as the aforementioned pumpkins.

We have both enjoyed watching our gardens grow, but I think I am at the greater advantage here, as I am the one who LOVES eating veggies. We'll see how much more we can get out of these last couple months of gardening season. Can't wait to do it again next year!
