Chris and I went up north for a quick weekend trip. It's been much too long since we've made it up. We spent the weekend staying with my grandparents and my Aunt Debbie. 
What a nice visit we had! Sitting and talking on the back porch watching the hummingbirds... 
...driving to spots I where I used to play with my cousins as a child...
...canoeing down the Au Sable.
They surprised me with a scrumptious birthday cake!
We had some really wonderful talks and some good family moments. It felt oh so nice to get away, especially to somewhere that has such a special place in my heart.
