Glennie

We went up to Glennie with my parents over Memorial weekend, just over a week ago. It was Chris' first time up to see my parents' "cabin". I, myself, haven't been up in almost five years. I really enjoyed showing him all of my favorite spots as a child; the bogs, the river, the trail along the power lines. The weather was perfect – sunny and warm. We did a lot of hiking, lounging on the river bank, and a bit of bike riding. Chris and I saw a great horned owl, we all saw a river otter, and I saw a porcupine on a solo hike I did one evening because everyone else was too pooped!

Afterwards, we stopped over to my grandparents' house in Luzurne. It was his first time getting a chance to meet them too. We had a nice visit for a few hours before it was time to head home. It was so great to see them - we had a lot of laughs telling Chris old stories from when I was growing up. Like the time my cousins buried me up to my neck in the sandbox and left me out there all evening. And how I would spend my days up north catching frogs and snakes. We'll have to make it up there again soon.
